Here you can find answers to common questions about the MFA Tool, uploading files and how your data is stored and shared.
The MFA Tool is developed to help recycling companies and research institutes evaluate sorting and treatment options for distinct waste streams. Although it was initially developed to evaluate and optimize the sorting of plastics from WEEE and end-of-life vehicles, the MFA Tool is generic and can be used for any waste stream. It takes your process data (input composition and sorting steps) and turns it into a Sankey diagram that shows how materials are recovered or lost at each step. By uploading a single Excel template, you can see key metrics, such as yield and purity, compare different scenarios, and share insights with others.
